All these photographs have been taken during two night dives on the 8th and 10th august at Marsa Shagra together with my buddy Gerhard Kutschera.
After excitation with a blue light torch most corals fluoresced in green light, but also partly in red, orange or blue light. Some fish have fluorescent pigments as well, such as lizard fish (Synodontidae) which appear bright green, or the scorpion fish (Scorpaenidae) which fluoresce partially red. Cyanobacteria mats fluoresce in orange.
