Liveaboard diving with a shark workshop: ‘Life between Drop-Off and the Open Sea’
The theme of this liveaboard diving safari on the My Destiny is the fast-flowing habitats and turbulent marine life found on and around offshore reefs, which are located far from the coast.
You will see everything from sea fans and lush soft corals to bannerfish, fusiliers, trevally and sharks, the sensitive top predators at the top of the food pyramid.

- We will dive at the world-famous reefs of Brothers Islands, Daedalus and Elphinstone Reef
- Expert guidance will be provided by marine biologist Stephan Moldzio, who will be on hand to answer questions about marine biology.
- Focus: Environmental factors: currents, deep-sea habitats, sharks.
- Optional extras: PADI AWARE Shark Conservation Distinctive Specialty certification
- Four short evening lectures (approx. 20-30 minutes) on the following topics
- The open sea habitat
- Currents – an important factor for marine life
- Stony corals, soft corals, sea fans and sea whips on offshore reefs
- Sharks in focus: the evolution, biology and ecology of these fascinating animals
- Shark species in the Red Sea
- Understanding shark behaviour and interactions between sharks and humans
- Overfishing and the protection of sharks
- Underwater photography: Stephan is also an experienced underwater photographer and is always happy to talk about his work.
- Bonus: After the course, Stephan will create a photo travelogue and share his best 100 pictures with the participants.
